Eid ul Fitri 1430 - The days before
It was fun but exhausting....
I took the day off from 18th Sept as Bibik is leaving on that day via a delayed flight at 1420hrs. The rest of the day was spent adjusting to look after the 2 little ones. I packed Bibik some pulut palas and serunding, muffins and cookies for her breakfasting and journey home. Traffic jam must be very bad! Bibik did as much as she could for the house before getting ready to go.
The next day was a non-working day (not exactly a company leave) and I spent half of it packing. For all of us for the first day in Klang, for hubby and Haakem for 3 days in Kelantan and for me and the girls for another day in Klang, the cooked food, the raw food for me to cook, food (cookies, muffins, pulut palas and serunding) for Kelantan, babies milk and food..... argh!!!! We plan to leave after Zohor but I was still in my worn out kaftan at 2pm. It took me another 1.5 hours to settle everything and at 3.45pm, we were off to Klang. Missed the exit to KESAS, twice, and took the Federal Highway instead. Arriving at my mom's at 5.25pm and it was raining heavily. My elder sister's family was already there.
My eldest sister Puti was in KL fetching my younger sister Angel from work and eventually missed the last iftar together, only arriving home at 1.30am much to my mom's disappointment. My brother, Adli's family was with us. We had the usual spread - nasi himpit (pressed rice), lodeh (mixed fresh, fermented & dried vegetables cooked in coconut gravy), sambal kacang with sotong (spicy peanut sauce with dried squids), rendang daging (dry beef curry), ayam goreng rempah (spicy fried chicken), paru goreng (fried cow's lung), pulut palas (glutinous rice cooked in coconut crean, stuffed in palm leaves and steamed to perfection) and serunding ikan (sweet and spicy fish floss).
After Maghrib prayer I put Zara to sleep and to the care of my sister Kak Aja. I joined the Isya' prayer led by my husband and then we recited the Takbeer.....
Stop Press! Zara refuse everyone except me and Mak Yah!!!
Errr... she fell off the bed and her forehead was swollen!! Huge!! But we placed wrapped ice cubes on the swelling part and thank God it wasd reduced almost to nothing except a hint of yellowish bruise by morning.
