Ramadhan......... pregnant and blood sugar profile
Alhamdulillah, despite initial worries, I have managed the 10 days so far, having practised for 7 days prior to this month with my qadha (replacement) for the days I have missed last year. 3 hours and 30 minutes more to go for my 11th day. I have been fine. No hunger and no dehydration and most importantly my blood sugar profile is stable and within control. Baby is not complaining either. I have to make sure I do not miss the pre-dawn meals (sahur), with sufficient intake of complex carbs, sugar and fluid. Absolutely no cafeine and simple carbs during this fasting month, except for minute amount just to quench the desire but I have managed.
I will probably miss a few days of fasting, if my baby decide to enter the world (outside my womb, that is) before the Eid which is well within his term. I hope I do not have to celebrate Eid with a big tummy.
